  • Flea and tick control (such as Frontline)
  • Spayed/neutered (if over the age of 6 months)

  • Bordatella and fecal test must be within the last 6 months

Evaluation

All potential clients, dogs, and their owners, are required to participate in an initial consultation. Owners will need to certify their dogs have not harmed or shown any aggressive or threatening behavior towards any person or any other dogs. Evaluation of your dog(s) will occur as part of this consultation.  Please remember that your pet(s) will be spending time with other pets and the safety and health of the pack is our main concern.  We will evaluate your dog’s temperament, ensure that he/she is people and dog friendly, is not food or toy protective, and will allow basic handling (paws, ears, mouth and handling of body).  Please contact us in advance to schedule this consultation and evaluation.

Age

All dogs must be at least 4 months of age or older. Puppies and recently adopted dogs must be in the home for 4 weeks prior to coming to stay with us.

Sex

All dogs over the age of 6 months must be neutered or spayed.  Puppies younger than 6 months may be intact.

Health

Dog must be current in the following vaccinations: DHPP (distemper, hepatitis, parainfluenza, and parvovirus), rabies (by six months of age), and bordatella (kennel cough; required semi-annually).  All dogs must be clean, in good health, and must not have fleas (we strongly recommend that your dog receive some form of monthly flea/tick treatment plan – please consult your veterinarian for more information about treatment options).  Owners will need to certify that their dog(s) are in good health and have not been ill in the last 30 days. On admission, all dogs must be free from any condition that could potentially jeopardize the health and safety of other dogs. Dogs that have been ill with a communicable condition in the last 30 days will require veterinarian certification of health in order to be accepted. If your dog is not feeling well, i.e. vomiting or diarrhea, please do not bring him/her for boarding.  In the event that your dog is ill, there will be no charge for cancellation.

License

Dog must have a current license from the jurisdiction of residence.

Injuries/Cuts/Scrapes/Concerns

In the event your pup experiences an injury such as a cut, scrape, nip, laceration or exhibits behavior of unusual discomfort, we will contact you, and provide a description, photographs, and a report of the conditions that lead to issue. We feel it’s most appropriate for you as the owner of the dog, to make a decision as how you’d like to proceed with care.

Emergencies

We have done our best to make our facility a safe environment for all our dogs, but in case of an emergency, we will contact you, your vet, and our emergency vet, if necessary.

Risks

Owners understand that supervised off-leash socialization and interaction between our guests is encouraged. Owners also acknowledge that dogs are unpredictable in behavior, and are aware of the risks involved in such play, and assume all risks.

Safety Issues

In order to maintain a safe play environment for the dogs, any dog that misbehaves will be given a time-out from the play area. Because excessive barking can escalate the intensity of the pack dynamic, we reserve the right to kennel your dog at any time.

Discomfort

We believe that there’s no place like home. For some dogs, they’ll be excited to play with us for the duration of their stay. For others, it can be a bit stressful. A dog might not eat food, may mope around, whine, shake, or not want to leave his/her kennel/bed. This level of discomfort, does happen from time to time. And when it does happen, we do our best to give your pup extra attention, treats, or whatever makes him/her the most comfortable. Sometimes, it goes away after the first or second night, and other times it might persist for a day or two after you pick your pup up. Again, there’s no place like home. But we’ll do our best to make sure your dog has a great time!

Behavior

Owners will need to certify that their dog(s) have not harmed or shown aggression or threatening behavior towards any person or other dog(s). Dogs that exhibit any aggressive behavior or show signs of excessive stress will be removed from the open play environment and you will be contacted.

Collars and Harnesses

All dogs must have a properly fitting collar or harness with a name/id tag and must be on a leash upon entry. No metal, pinch, choke, beaded, or studded collars will be allowed.

Dog Personal Items

You are welcome to bring your dog’s bed, a towel or blanket (with the family’s scent on it), one or two of his/her toys, or any other item(s) that will help make the dog’s stay here comfortable and happy.

Rates

Our overnight rate for a scheduled stay is $40 per night for your first dog; each additional dog in the same family is $35 per night for a scheduled stay.  Our daycare rate is $30 per day.  We do not charge extra fees for yardtime, playtime, cuddletime, potty breaks, etc.  Charges for special needs dogs will be determined on a case by case basis. Unscheduled stay charges will be determined on a case by case basis.

Hours

We are open every day but request that appointments be made in advance, to ensure that we are not busy with the doggies upon your arrival.  Appointments times can be made any day between 9:00am and 7:00pm; other times may be available on a case by case basis.  Days that we are closed will be posted on our website.

Drop-Off/Pick-Up:

Owner must provide authorization to allow anyone else to pick up their dog. Drop-off and pick-up of your pet must occur by specific appointment, again, this is to ensure that we are available for you upon your arrival.  Dogs not picked up by 8:00pm on the last day of the scheduled stay will be boarded overnight; under such circumstances, we reserve the right to apply our unplanned stay fee of $45/night.

Cancellation

Cancellations for dog boarding with less than one week notice will be charged the full day/night care fee for their dog’s reserved stay. Reservations made less than 3 days from scheduled check-in date are final as of 6:00 p.m. on the day they were made.

Holiday Reservations

Holiday rate is $45 per night.  When making your dog boarding reservations during any national recognized holiday, please be advised that a $75 non-refundable deposit may be requested to book your reservation.  If holiday reservations are cancelled less than 14 days of scheduled arrival date, the full balance of the reservation will be charged in its entirety.

Feeding

If we will be feeding your dog(s) during their stay, we request that you bring their regular food to avoid causing possible digestive issues (diarrhea, etc). We ask that your dog’s food be divided into separate meals and be labeled with your dog’s name and any special feeding instructions (feeding time, adding water, elevating food, etc.).  If you prefer, we will provide our own food for an additional charge of $5 per meal.  Also, we may provide our guests with small treats throughout the day; so, please let us know if you do not want your dog to have any treats.  Also, please let us know of any reactions or sensitivities your dog has to food or treats.  You are welcome to bring a food dish for your dog, if you would like to.

Medication

As a general rule, we are unable to administer medication to your dog.  This can be addressed on a case by case basis, depending on the medical condition, and may be subject to our ‘Special Needs’ nightly rate.

Breed Restrictions

This is a difficult and ongoing issue for us. Due to insurance restrictions, we are unable to take any pit bulls or pit bull mixes.  We sincerely regret this restriction and are working with our insurance carrier to see if there is a way to eliminate it.  We know that these breeds are some of the very sweetest, loving, and loyal animals; however, it is the power in their jaws and the very unfortunate mis-use of this breed that causes our insurance carrier to require this restriction.

Show Dogs & Service Dogs

It is the nature of our facility for boarders to spend a lot of time playing with other dogs. The rewards of this type of environment (socializing, playing, running, jumping, exercising, etc) are amazing. And, although injuries/cuts/nips/lacerations are a rare occurrence, they do happen. The impact of such an occurrence is uncomfortable, and can be significantly more devastating to an owner if they rely on their pup for service, or participate in shows. For this reason, we do not recommend service dogs or show dogs enroll in our facility.

Abandonment

In the event that the owner does not return within 8 hours of the anticipated return date/time and cannot be reached by phone,  and the owner’s emergency contact(s) are also unable to be reached, The Company will continue to care for the dog(s) for up to 7 days after the last scheduled visit of booking, depending on our boarding schedule.  At that time, if the owner or legal representative has not arrived and/or contacted The Company to continue or transfer care of the dog(s), The Company will see to the transport of the dog(s) to Greenhill Humane Society shelter.  The dog owner, legal representative, or dog owner’s estate will be subsequently invoiced for all applicable fees and expenses for extended care, transport, and release to the shelter.  The Company will make every effort to ensure safe transport to shelter but will not be held liable for the action to transport and release to shelter, any adverse effects upon, injuries to, or subsequent adoption of the dog(s) while in transit to or in care of the shelter, or thereafter.  If the dog(s) are retrieved from the shelter by the owner or legal representative, The Company will not be held responsible or liable for any related costs.

Changes

Our Policies, Procedures, Services, and Rates may change from time to time. While we will attempt to notify you of these changes, it is ultimately your responsibility to check back on our website regularly so that you are aware of our most current Policies, Procedures, Services, and Rates. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone at our sole discretion.

Payment Options

We accept cash and credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover).  We charge a $45 fee for returned checks.  During the initial reservation process, each dog owner must provide a valid credit card to be on file.  During busy holidays a deposit for boarding must be placed for each dog to guarantee the reservation. This deposit must be made at the time of reservation and payment must be made when the dog is picked up.  We do not bill customers or allow credit.
